Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Jouliq LLC ("Jouliq", "we", "us") collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the Jouliq platform, jouliq.com, and related services (together, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Information you give us. Your name, work email, company, and anything else you submit through our contact form or in correspondence with us.
• Account information. Details you or your organization provide to set up and administer a Jouliq account, including user names, email addresses, and role assignments.
• Utility account data. When a customer authorizes us to do so, we access utility provider accounts on that customer's behalf and collect billing statements, usage and meter readings, account numbers, service addresses, payment status, and related notices.
• Credentials. To connect a utility account, we may collect and store the credentials or authorization tokens needed to access that provider on the customer's behalf.
• Usage and device data. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected when you use the Services.

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Services, including collecting, parsing, auditing, and delivering utility billing data.
• To detect billing anomalies, service issues, and account problems, and to notify the relevant customer.
• To deliver processed data to the property management or accounting systems a customer directs us to.
• To respond to inquiries, provide support, and communicate about the Services.
• To secure the Services, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Utility provider access

Jouliq accesses utility provider accounts strictly as an agent of, and under authorization from, the customer who controls those accounts. We use that access only to carry out the functions the customer has asked us to perform. A customer may withdraw that authorization at any time, after which we will stop accessing the affected accounts.

4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:

• At your direction. With the property management, accounting, or payment systems you connect to Jouliq.
• Service providers. With vendors who perform services for us — such as hosting, infrastructure, error monitoring, and email delivery — under obligations to protect the information.
• Legal and safety. Where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jouliq, our customers, or others.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, and afterward as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Customers may request deletion of their data as described below.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port certain personal information, or to object to or restrict some processing. To make a request, contact us at hello@jouliq.com. Where Jouliq processes information on behalf of a customer, we will refer your request to that customer and support them in responding.

8. Cookies

This website uses only what is necessary to serve and secure the page. If we later introduce analytics or similar technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent.

9. Children

The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International users

Jouliq is based in the United States and processes information there. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
